MRS. MARGARET PATTERSON 1844-1897
On Sunday, May 30, 1897, death visited the home of John Patterson and took therefrom a loving wife and mother. Mrs. Patterson whose maiden name was Margaret McDonnell was born, May 27, 1844, in Ross County Clare, Ireland. She came to this country when a girl and was united in marriage to Mr. Patterson, March 4, 1864 in Alton, Illinois.

From there moved to Missouri and then to Iowa residing in the vicinity of Avoca for the past sixteen years.
