MRS. ANNA BORNHOLDT 1861-1935
Mrs. Anna Bornholdt, nee Horst, a daughter of Dethiefs Horst and Anna Solhorn was born November 17, 186, at Rock Island, Illinois, and passed unto her eternal home last Wednesday morning at about 7:00 am having reached the age of 74 years, 2 months, and 13 days.

In early childhood Mrs. Bornholdt was baptized into the name of the Father, Son and the Holy Ghost thus becoming a co-inheritor of the Kingdom that shall endure unto all eternity. Soon after her baptism she accompanied her parents to Durant, Iowa, there she received her public school education as also a training and understanding of those things which have an eternal value, having learned to know her God as the Savior of sinful men she made confession of her faith in the Tribune God and promised to faithfully abide in the baptismal covenant; this was done in the rite of confirmation.

February 14, 1884, she was married to George Bornholdt and with him soon moved to a farm about 10 miles southwest of Hancock. Mr. and Mrs. George Bornholdt have since, with the exception of the past eight years, farmed in and about the Hancock, Iowa, community and have through their practice of Christian principles won many a dear and lasting friendship.

To the union of Mr. and Mrs. George Bornholdt were born three sons: Albert, who died in infancy; Rhinehardt who lives in Jacksonville, Michigan’ and Alfred who farms several miles northwest of Hancock. Besides her husband and two sons there remain to mourn her death also three grandchildren and three great grandchildren; two sisters: Miss Lizzie Horst of Durant, Iowa and Mrs. Dora Cunningham of Colorado Springs, Colorado. Also two brothers: Harry Horst of Muscatine, Iowa and George Horst of Seattle, Washington besides a host of other relatives and friends.

For the past eight years the Bornholdts have lived in their present home, with occasionally sickness visiting either one or the other. The past week Mrs. Bornholdt was only slightly interrupted in the regular routine of housework, but the Lord sent his call last Wednesday morning and the more than 50 years of Mr. and Mrs. George Borholdt’s wedded life came to an end.
