Memorial service for Gary L. Gylling, 66, of Council Bluffs will be Friday at
11 a.m. at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer- Woodring Funeral Home with Elder Charles F.
Angeroth Jr. of Crescent Community of Christ Church officiating.Mr. Gylling died Jan. 26 at Methodist Hospital in Omaha.
He was born July 5, 1936, in Council Bluffs to Sigurd and Eleanor
(Christiansen) Gylling. He was a 1955 graduate of Abraham Lincoln High School.
He was a heavy equipment operator for Peter Kiewit & Sons Inc. for 35 years,
retiring in 1992. After retirement, worked for Doty's Auction and also taught
in the apprenticeship program for IUOE Local No. 571. He was a member of IUOE
Local No. 571 (Operator's Union).Mr. Gylling and his wife Helen "Beth" (Trumble), were married Oct. 28, 1967.
Survivors in addition to his wife include three sons, Matthew Gylling and
Jason Gylling, both of Council Bluffs, and Christopher Gylling and special
friend Cecily Amato of Sacramento, Calif.; one sister, Donna Wright and
husband, Terry, of Green Forest, Ark.; nieces and nephews.The body has been cremated; there will be no viewing. Visitation with the
family will be Thursday from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Private
burial of ashes will be held in Cedar Lawn Cemetery.İDaily Nonpareil 2003
