Iola F. "Connie" Betow, age 84, passed away October 11, 2008.

Connie was born in Iowa City, Iowa, on February 2, 1924, and moved to Council Bluffs in 1955. Connie owned and operated C&J Rock Shop and Jewelry Repair.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, George Nesbitt and James Betow; daughter, Candy Odell; sister, Marilyn Connelly; and mother, Mary Helen Connelly.

Survivors include daughters, Sherry Dalton and Don Sr., Sandy Fitzsimmons and Bob, all of Council Bluffs; sons, Terry Nesbitt and Karen, of Nevada, Mo., and Jerry Nesbitt and Carol Engelbrecht; 14 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; sister, Erma Jean Cox, of California.

Visitation, Tuesday, 6-8 p.m., at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home. Funeral services, Wednesday, 11 a.m., also at the funeral home. Rev. E.A. Hering, officiant. Interment, Walnut Hill Cemetery. Family gathering to follow at 3401 12th Ave.
