Kathleen M. Mayberry, age 84, of Council Bluffs, died October 9, 2008, at Began Mercy Hospital, in Omaha, Neb.

Kathleen was born on May 27, 1924, in Omaha, to Irvin J. and Ellen M. (Sprang) Walmer. Kathleen married Shirley "Duane" Mayberry on March 14, 1942. She retired from Northwestern Bell as an operator in 1975.

She was preceded in death by her husband; and her parents.

Kathleen is survived by her daughter, Shirley Jennings and her husband Don, of Aurora, Colo.; sister, Virginia Homan; granddaughter, Traci Kay Jennings-Janes and her husband Scott; great grandchildren, Chelsea Ann Hewett and Frankie Duane Hewett; great-great granddaughter, Ava Hewett; nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation with the family is Sunday, 2-4 p.m., at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home. Funeral service is Monday, 1 p.m., also at the funeral home. Interment in Cedar Lawn Cemetery. The family will direct memorials.
