HAYWARD, Calif. - Donna M. Knopfer, 78, of Walnut Creek, Calif., died Jan. 16 at home.

She was born Feb. 9, 1924, in McClelland to William and Martha Herrill. She was an accounts payable supervisor for Mervyn's Department Store for 27 years. She lived in Walnut Creek for the past 10 years. She previously lived in Castro Valley, Calif., for 10 years and in San Lorenzo, Calif., for 10 years.

She was preceded in death by a son, David Knopfer.

Survivors include two sons, Jay A. Knopfer and wife, Syd Parks, of Cincinnati, Ronald B. Knopfer and wife, Karen, of Livermore, Calif.; daughter-in-law, Nicolette Knopfer, of Fremont, Calif.; four grandchildren, Julie Knopfer and Kristi Knopfer, both of Livermore, David Knopfer Jr. of Fremont and Becky Knopfer of Lathrop, Calif.

There will be no services. Memorials may be offered to Kaiser Hospice, 1425 S. Main St., Walnut Creek, CA 94118.

Chapel of Chimes in Hayward, Calif., is in charge of arrangements.
