In Memory: Raymond L. Driver

Raymond L. Driver, 65, of Council Bluffs died January 16 in Prescott Valley, Arizona.

He was born May 14, 1935m, to Ellis and Loleeta (Ogborn) Driver in Neola. He graduated from Neola High School in 1953 and served in the U.S. Navy from 1958 until 1961.

He worked for the U.S. Postal Service in Omaha, worked for the Burlington Northern Railroad and Retired in 1997 after working in the Union Pacific Railroad shops for 10 years.

Survivors include three sons, Dale L. and wife, Sam “Babe,” Daniel L. and Duane, all of Council Bluffs; his mother, Loleeta Driver, of Council Bluffs; a sister, Janice K. Smith and husband, Robert, of Council Bluff; two brothers, Lyle F. of Council Bluff and Lynn M. and wife, Darlene, of Neola; and five grandchildren.

Visitation with the family was held Sunday from 7 to 8 P.M. at Belford-O’Neill Funeral Home.

Funeral was held Monday at 2 P.M. at Hillside Mortuary in Neola with the Rev. Paul Howard of Sherwood Community Church officiating.

Burial was in the Neola township Cemetery with Military rites conducted by the American Legion followed by a reception at the Legion Hall in Neola.

Memorials may be offered to the Diabetes Foundation.
