Persia: In Memory: Joan C. Janson

Joan C. Janson, 76, of Rolla, Missouri, died July 5, 2002 at Phelps County Regional Medical Center in Rolla.

Mrs. Janson was born on March 14, 1926, in Council Bluffs to Edward and Gladys (Smith) Brich of Neola.

She was a bookkeeper for Standard Oil in Omaha and Alden's in Iowa City.

She married Charles Kemmish of Persia on April 14, 1948. He died from polio on September 25, 1951. A daughter, Charlene, was born three
months after his death.

She married Melvin Janson of Sioux City on June 11, 1955. They moved to the Los Angeles, California area where four children were born.

She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Auxiliary and American War Mother's.

Survivors include her husband, Melvin; nine children, Charlene Kemmish Renick, Charles Janson, Carolyn Harris, Catherine Heddinghaus, Carl Janson, Colleen Janson, Clearance Janson, Constance Prewett and Cheryl Janson; nine brothers and sisters, Marion Madden, Robert Brich,
Charlotte Stephens, Margaret Vorthmann, Thomas Brich, Francis Brich, Stephen Brich, Theresa Berriman and Virginia Kilts; numerous
grandchildren, one great-grandchild, nephews, nieces and cousins.

Visitation was held Monday evening at Kordes Funeral Home in Rolla with a rosary.

Funeral services were held at 10 A. M. Tuesday at St. Patrick's Church in Rolla with Rev. I. Medina officiating. Burial was in Ozark Memorial
Gardens Cemetery.

Memorial donations in her name may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
