Jerald E. Garges

Graveside services for Jerald Eugene Garges, 71, of Council Bluffs will be held on Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Glenwood Cemetery with the Rev. Roger Prescott officiating, with military rites conducted by the American Legion. Family and friends are to meet at the cemetery.

Mr. Garges died Jan. 11 at Jennie Edmundson Hospital.

He was born Oct. 17, 1931, in Pacific Junction to Harvey and Margaret E. (Thomas) Garges. He lived in Council Bluffs for 50 years. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He was a truck driver for Nebraska Furniture Mart for 38 years, retiring in 1993.

Mr. Garges was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Mae, his parents, Harvey and Margaret, and twin brother, Gerald.

Survivors include his daughter, Geri Garges, of Council Bluffs; grandson, Gage Larsen, of Council Bluffs; two sisters, Renie Hedrick and husband, Bill, of Council Bluffs and Clara Mae Doan of Oregon; two brothers, Fay and Art both of Council Bluffs; nieces and nephews.

There will be no viewing or visitation. Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
