Barbara Jean Nixon, age 86, of Council Bluffs, passed away March 27, 2008, at Woodlands Rehabilitation Center.

Barb was born February 25, 1922, in Council Bluffs, to the late Forrest and Gladys (Peterson) Corbaley. She worked for K&K Bus Co.; Pottawattamie County Courthouse and Ameristar Casino.

Barb was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred J. "Bud" Nixon, in 1965; daughter, Sharon Nixon, in 2005; sister, Shirley Tellander.

She is survived by daughters, Robyn Adkins, of Council Bluffs, Bobette Ross, of Omaha, Neb.; 4 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; sisters, Virginia Corbaley, Jody Rice; brothers, Jack Corbaley and Ed Carlile; nieces and nephews.

Memorial visitation, Tuesday, 2-3 p.m., at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home. Graveside service and burial of ashes, Tuesday, 3 p.m., in Garner Township Cemetery. Memorials to the family preferred.
