Jim L. Fitch, age 74, passed away March 27, 2008.

Jim was born in Des Moines, on March 31, 1933, to Theodore and Anna Mae Houston Fitch. After graduating from high school, Jim served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Jim married Phyllis (Thiede) on September 21, 1954. Jim was owner and operator of AAA Carpet Cleaning for over 23 years. Jim is a former member of morning Rotary and Our Saviors Lutheran Church and a current member of the American Legion Post 2.

He is preceded in death by his son, Dennis R. Petry in 1991 and brother, Jack Fitch in 1993.

Survivors include wife, Phyllis; daughter, Kimberly Fisher and husband, Bill, all Council Bluffs; son, Kevin L. Fitch and wife, Kim, of Omaha; 7 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; sisters, Ruth Fitch, of Council Bluffs, Virginia Merris, of Oregon, and Lenna Finch, of Michigan; brothers, Dick, of Portland, Joe, of California, Ted, of Kansas City and Jesse Fitch, of Council Bluffs.

Visitation with family Monday 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home. Funeral services Tuesday 11:00 a.m. also at funeral home. Interment Ridgewood Mausoleum. Military rites tendered by American Legion Post 2. Luncheon will follow at the American Legion.

Family will direct memorials.
