Helen Frederiksen

The funeral for Helen (Lungren) Urban Frederiksen, 83, of Council Bluffs will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Faith Lutheran Church with the Rev. Don Levenhagen officiating.

Mrs. Frederiksen died Jan. 5 at Valley Baptist Hospital in Harlingen, Texas.

She was born June 15, 1919, in Ft. Cook, Neb., to Hilmer and Helen (Kauss) Lundgren. She wintered in San Benito, Texas, since 1980. She was a nurses aide at Clarkson and Immanuel hospitals in Omaha as well as a homemaker. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church since 1960 and its Lutheran Ladies Aid. She was a volunteer for the Red Cross.

Mrs. Frederiksen was preceded in death by her first husband, John Urban Sr. and her second husband, Dale Frederiksen.

Survivors include two daughters, Ellen Griger and husband, Dale, of Omaha and Caroline Okleberry and husband, Clair, of Lincoln, Neb.; three sons, John Urban Jr. and wife, Joyce, of Omaha, Ernest Urban of Omaha and Richard Urban of Council Bluffs; two sisters, Elaine Rosebohn and husband, Marion, of Omaha and Katie Lewis of Council Bluffs; five brothers, Henry R. Petersen and wife, Ede, Harold Petersen and wife, Lou, Richard Petersen and John Petersen, all of Council Bluffs, Robert Petersen and wife, Nancy, of Ames; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren.

Visitation with the family will be Thursday from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home. Burial will be in Papillion, Neb., Cemetery.

Memorials may be offered to the Faith Lutheran Church or Zion Peace Lutheran School.
