Priscilla Burke Adams

LA JOLLA, Calif. - Priscilla Burke Adams, 79, of La Jolla, Calif., died Dec. 4.

She was born April 26, 1923, in Council Bluffs. She attended Duschene College and later joined the Department of Defense. Throughout the duration of World War II, she was a civilian employee for the U.S. Air Force at Hickam Field in Hawaii.

Following the war, she returned to Council Bluffs where she met and married Lawrence Ray Adams Jr. In 1959 the Adams family moved to LaJolla. She worked as an office manager for several La Jolla physician groups during the course of her 30-year career.

Survivors include one son, Larry Adams, and wife, Gail, and granddaughter, Jennifer Adams, all of Scripps Ranch, Calif.; one daughter, Sheila Adams, of New York City; brother, Finley Burke, of New Jersey.

Services were held at Mary Star-of-the-Sea in La Jolla on Dec. 13 at 10 a.m.

Memorials are suggested to Children's Hospital.
