Dorothy Wright, age 88, passed away Saturday, March 8, 2008, with her family present.

Dorothy was born November 20, 1919, in Underwood, Iowa, to Freda and Theodore Detlef Sieck. She attended Wayne State College and graduated from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. As the new school teacher, in Silver City, Iowa, she met and later married Charles E. Wright.

Dorothy was a teacher who deeply cared about her students, many of whom later returned to thank her. She retired from teaching after 40 years of inspiring so many to lifelong learning. She was known for opening her door to others. Even though she put her heart and soul into her teaching, she was an energetic hostess to family and friends. Family dinners have not been the same with her pie, jams, and cookies. She often said that she did the most for herself when she helped others. Dorothy loved to read and loved words, especially crossword puzzles. She was a consummate interior decorator of her homes.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles; and two brothers, Clifford and Leonard Sieck.

She is survived by her daughters, Kathy McIntosh and her husband Jerry, Nancy Campbell and her husband Michael, all of Fort Collins; grandchildren, Charles Fraser and his wife Nancy, of Woodstock, Conn., Alexander Fraser and his wife Wendy, of Mill Valley, Calif., great grandchildren, Campbell and Leighton Fraser; two brothers, Walter and Loran Sieck; and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial service will be in Silver City, in May 2008. Further details to follow. Memorial contributions may be made to the PVH Foundation and Hospice of Larimer County, in care of Allnutt Funeral Service, 650 W. Drake Road, Fort Collins CO 80526.
