Muriel Clover Hooker, age 94, passed away March 12, 2008, at Risen Son.

She was born on July 6, 1913, in rural Griswold, Iowa, to Francis and Susie F. Freeman Lembke.

Muriel graduated from High School and was a homemaker, sold Avon, nurses aid and longtime volunteer at Jennie Edmundson Hospital. Muriel loved her volunteering and was active at Jennie Edmundson even in her 90's. Her affiliation included the Presbyterian Church in Carson before moving to Council Bluffs in 1967, when she joined First Christian Church, and also was a member of the Eastern Star.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Marvin L. Hooker, Sr., who passed away in 1990, her siblings, Thelma, Lorraine, Guinevere and Dale, son-in-law, Ralph Moon.

Muriel is survived by son, Marvin L. Hooker, Jr., and wife, Donna, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; daughters, Florence Atchley and husband, Don, of Council Bluffs, Frances Moon of Pea Ridge, Ark., 8 grandchildren; 6 step grandchildren; numerous great and step great grandchildren; sisters, Gale Edwards, of Kermin, Calif., Velma Powers, of Griswold, Iowa, Belma Dorsheimer, of Griswold; brothers, Elton Lembke, of Griswold, Marion Lembke, of Essex, Iowa.

Visitation Monday 10:30 to 11:00 a.m. followed by funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home. Rev. David Erickson, Pastor First Christian Church, officiant.

Interment Ridgewood Cemetery followed by a luncheon at First Christian Church Highway 92.

Memorials to the church and Risen Son preferred.
