Chester C. Keen

Chester C. Keen, age 86, Council Bluffs, passed away March 2, 2008, at his home.

He was born May 21, 1921, in Kearney County, Neb., to Charlie and Edna (Nielsen) Keen. Chester graduated from welding school and spent 31 years with Fruehauf Trailers as a welder. Chester served his country during W.W. II with the U.S. Air Force, and was a member of the Kearney Eagles Club.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Gwendolyn; sister, Virginia Schwartz.

Survivors include daughters, Mary Toland (Jeff) of Yuma, Ariz., Maxine Jons (Larry) of Minden, Neb., Myrene Lawrey of Cherokee, Iowa; sons, Kenneth Keen (Laura), Kurtis Keen, all Council Bluffs; grandchildren, Eric and Billy Smith, Aaron Lawrey, Ryall and Stacy Jons, Ashley and Reve Keen; 4 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be Tuesday 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home. Funeral services Wednesday, 9:00 a.m., also at funeral home.

Graveside services Wednesday 3:00 p.m. Kearney, Neb.
