In Memory: Doris E. Reid

The funeral for Doris E. Reid, 54, of Council Bluffs was held Saturday at 10 a.m. at First Christian Church with the Rev. David Erickson officiating.

Mrs. Reid died May 21 at Jennie Edmundson Hospital.

She was born October 4, 1948, in Logan to Harold and Emma (Weipert) Pitt. She lived in Council Bluffs most of her life. She was a service clerk at TeLMar Communications (formerly Allied Communications) for the past 10 years.

Mrs. Reid and her husband, Richard, were married 37 years. She was preceded in death by her mother, Emma Pitt, in 1971.

Survivors in addition to her husband include two daughters, Cindy Martin and husband, Kim, and Susan Reid, all of Council Bluffs; one son, Richard Reid, and wife, Billie Joe, of Council Bluffs; father, Harold Pitt of Council Bluffs; two grandchildren, Kody and Kylie Martin of Council Bluffs; four sisters, Dorothy Andersen and husband, Dave, of Shelby, Barbara Adams and husband, Wayne, of Underwood, Betty Wright and husband, Doug, of Council Bluffs, Margaret Baker and husband, Terry, of Council Bluffs; four brothers, Stanley Pitt and wife, Darlene, of Logan; Ronald Pitt and wife, Florice, of Council Bluffs, Raymond Pitt and wife, Christa, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Melvin Pitt and wife, Alice, of McClelland; father and mother-in-law, Claude and Daisy Reid of Perryville, Arkansas; brother-in-law, Randy Reid and wife, Vickie, of Council Bluffs; sister-in-law, Linda Reid of Council Bluffs; numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation with the family was held at the church.

Burial was in the Memorial Park Cemetery with a lunch following at First Christian.

Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be offered to First Christian Church.
