In Memory: Mary Burbridge

Mary Lou Burbridge, 76, of Ute died January 10 at the Maple Heights Care Center in Mapleton.

She was born January 31, 1927, in Council Bluffs to Arthur Larsen and Frances Hamlin Larsen. She spent her formative years in Logan; graduating from high school in Logan. Before marrying Robert Burbridge she taught in a rural Iowa school. They made their home on a farm south of Council Bluffs and later in Mondamin. Upon the death of Bob she made her home in Ute. In Ute she was active in the Christian Church and was a member of the Library Board and Senior Center.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bob; infant son, Todd; brothers, David and Jim Larsen.

Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Ann and Bill Lewis of Mondamin, Penny and Steve Barrier of Neola, Eileen and Don Lisle of Ute; sons and daughters-in-law, Cliff and Sue of Naperville, Illinois, Steve and Rhonda of Ute, Chuck and Lori of Neola; 23 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Sally Frazier of Los Cruces, New Mexico, Lee Atkinson of Council Bluffs, Sue Altermatt and husband, Tom, of Genesoa, Illinois; brothers, Dick of Santa Cruz, California, Don and wife, Denise, of Altoona, Art and wife, Sharon, of Pittsfield, Massachusetts.

Visitation with the family was held at Hennessey-Aman Funeral Home in Missouri Valley. Services were held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Christian Church in Ute.

Burial was in Grange Cemetery, Honey Creek.

Memorials may be offered to Ute Public Library, Ute Christian Church or Maple Heights Care Center.
