In Memory: Harold Koenig

Harold Edward Koenig, 68, died November 9, 2004 at the Hallmark Nursing and Rehab Center in Omaha, Nebraska.

Harold was born on January 22, 1936 in rural Avoca, Iowa. He was the son of Henry and Alma Jacobsen Koenig. He attended and graduated from Walnut High School with the class of 1954. He worked for Union Pacific Railroad in Omaha after high school.

He moved to California in 1959. He worked for Timberman and McClain Construction for 6 years. Then Harold worked for the Southern California Pipeline Company until he retired. He moved to Bullhead City, Arizona.

In January of 2004 he moved to Elk Horn, Iowa and resided in Salem Lutheran Nursing Home.

Harold was preceded in death by his parents, an infant brother Russell and an infant sister Agnes.

Survivors include his sisters: Geraldine Petersen of Avoca, Audrey and her husband, Gus Hartje of Oakland, Iowa and Nina Bruce of Detroit, Michigan, nieces, nephews and other relatives and many friends.

Services were held at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Avoca on November 13 with Pastor Bernard Daiker officiating.

Burial was at the Graceland Cemetery in Avoca.
