In Memory: Lynda D. Weppler

Lynda D. (Bishop) Weppler, 49, of Iowa City' died February 3 at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City after a long illness.

She was born July 28, 1951, in Red Oak to Richard and Bonnie (Clayton) Bishop of Oakland. She attended Macedonia and Oakland schools and the University of Iowa She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, was a longtime volunteer for SHARE and St. Anthony's Bread. She was a moderator of a forum for parents of children with special needs and had been a representative of AFSCME Local 12 at the University of Iowa, where she was employed.

Survivors include her parents, Richard and Bonnie (Clayton) Bishop, of Oakland; two sons, James Bishop Kent and Jesse Alan Weppler, both of Iowa City; a sister, Amylyn S. Bishop, of Shelby; three brothers, Allen F. and wife, Sharon, of Branson, MO., David C. and wife, Pamela, of LeClaire and her twin, Lynn D. and wife, Rose, of Manassas, VA; nieces and nephews.

The body has been donated to the University of Iowa.

A memorial service will be held later.
