In Memory: George P. Glacey

George P. "Bubba" Glacey, Jr., 53, of Honey Creek died Saturday of natural causes at the V.A. Medical Center in Omaha.

He was born August 22, 1950, in Omaha to George P. and Lois (Hakenholz) Glacey Sr.

He graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1968 and served with the U.S. Army in Vietnam.

He worked in the city, of Omaha's Maintenance Department for 10 years before retiring in 1988.

He is survived by his daughter, Heather Jamie of Blair, Nebraska; grandsons Gavin Fischer and Dawson "Little Bubba” Fischer; sisters Margaret Gilmore and husband Gerald of Carter Lake, and Patricia McGrath and husband Dan of Council Bluffs; brother Joseph Glacey and wife Julie Ann of Omaha; six nephews and two nieces.

A celebration of life service was at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home with the Rev. Lowell Knauss of Grace Presbyterian Church officiating.

A luncheon followed at the American Legion Club. Military rites were held at the funeral home by American Legion Post 2.

Cremation followed the service with burial of the cremains in Grange Cemetery in Honey Creek.

Family visitation was held at the funeral home.
