In Memory: Marilyn Slobodnik

Marilyn "Mary" Slobodnik, 55, a. resident of Nishna Cottage in Malvern, died May 20 at Jennie Edmundson Hospital in Council Bluffs.

She was born October 25, 1945, to Frank and Anna (Pavelich) Slobodnik. She graduated from St. Francis High School. She was a member of St. Peter's Church.

Miss Slobodnik was preceded in death by her brother, Bill, on July 1, 2000.

Survivors include three brothers, Donald and wife, Sharon, of Council Bluffs, John of Neola and Jim and wife, Marilyn, of Mount Pleasant; nieces and nephews.

A wake service was held Tuesday at Belford-O'Neill Funeral Home, followed by visitation with the family. Funeral Mass was held Wednesday at St. Peter's Church with the Rev. Chuck Kottas, pastor, officiating. Burial was in St. Joseph Cemetery, followed by a lunch in the church hall.

Memorials may be offered to St. Albert Schools.
