UNDERWOOD - Kenneth M. Christensen, 79, died Dec. 27 at Golden Valley Memorial Hospital in Clinton, Mo.

He was born in Underwood to Charlie and Laura (Nelson) Christensen Aug. 1, 1923. He served with the U.S. Army in World War II from February 1944 to December 1946. He was a farmer and cattle feeder for many years before he retired in 1993.

He was a member of the Midlands Evangelical Free Church where he served as Deacon and a member of Gideons International.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Arlene W. (Magnusson) Christensen; three daughters, Judy Christensen of Corpus Christi, Texas, E'Lise Stump and her husband, Ron, of Lincoln, Neb., and Amber Miller and her husband, Randy, of Clinton, Mo.; two sons, Arnie Christensen and his wife, Peggy, and David Christensen and his wife, Cindy, all of Underwood; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a sister, Mary Lou Boyd of Omaha; and nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home with Lay Minister Scott Moore officiating.

Burial will take place at Downsville Cemetery in rural Underwood with a lunch following at Midlands Evangelical Free Church.

Visitation with the family will be Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the mortuary.

Memorials may be made to Gideons International or Midlands Evangelical Free Church.
