Jim Evans

Jim Evans, 60, of Crescent, died Dec. 22 while at his winter home in Corpus Christi, Texas.

He was born in Atlantic to Wilbur and Isabelle Evans on Aug. 30, 1942. He graduated from Thomas Jefferson in 1960 and lived most of his life in Crescent. He owned and operated Jim Evans Construction for more than 30 years.

He served on the board of his condo association in Corpus Christi. He was once Fire Chief of Crescent Volunteer Fire Department, was one of the founders of Crescent Fun Days and was a member of the ski patrol for Crescent Ski Hills.

He is survived by his wife Kathie; two daughters, Julie Brown and fiancé, Dennis Brewer, and Jennifer Williams and husband, Danny; his parents Wilbur and Isabelle Evans and a brother, Neal Evans and wife Geri, all of Council Bluffs; one sister, Roxann de Huelbes, of Chicago; five grandchildren, Kylie Brown, Jacob Brown, Garrett Sherley, Allyson Williams and Nicole Williams, all of Council Bluffs; six nieces and nephews, and many friends.

Memorial services will be held at Council Bluffs Senior Center, 714 S. Main, Jan. 5 at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be offered to the MICAH House.
