Norman H. Bruning Norman H. Bruning, age 93, formerly of Treynor, Iowa, passed away January 16, 2008, at Bethany Lutheran Home where he has lived for the last 11 years.

Norman was born in Treynor on December 17, 1914, to Fritz and Ernestine (Husz) Bruning. Norman graduated from Treynor High and worked at Kathman Hardware for 35 years. He then became a seed corn distributor for Pioneer until retirement. Norman was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Treynor, and volunteered for the Fire and Rescue Squad. He loved baseball and bowling.

He was preceded in death by his wife Juanita whom he was married to for 50 years before her passing in 1982; son, Joe; brothers, Harold and Wilber.

Survivors include daughter, Sandy Newberg and husband B.J. "Junior" of Council Bluffs; daughter-in-law, Sandi Bruning of Lee Summit, Mo.; grandchildren, Mick Newberg of Denver, Suzanne Sword and husband Mark of Nashville, Tenn., Chad Bruning of Lee Summitt, Mo.; great grandchildren, Jake and Emily Sword; special young man, Anthony Rivera; nieces, Virginia Bruning of Treynor, Marilyn Cash of Lake Forest, Ill.

Visitation will be Sunday from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at Cutler- O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home. Funeral services Monday, 10:30 a.m., at St. Paul Lutheran Church Treynor, Iowa. Interment St. Paul's Cemetery. Luncheon will follow back at church. Memorials to St. Paul's Church in Treynor, Bethany Lutheran Home and Treynor Fire and Rescue.
