In Memory: Ione J. Turner

Ione J. Turner, 84, died December 31, 2007 at Risen Son in Council Bluffs.

Ione was born November 6, 1923 to Peter and Nettie Macklin Jessen on a farm in Boomer Township. She graduated from Beebeetown High School and married Joseph Turner. Ione worked at Barrier Tire in Neola, Gateway Realty and the Squirrel Cage Jail in Council Bluffs.

Ione lived most of her life in Neola, before moving to Council Bluffs 20 years ago. She was a member of St. Patrick's Church in Neola, now St. Patrick's in Council Bluffs

Ione was preceded in death by her husband Joe, son Pete, five brothers and two sisters.

Ione is survived by daughters Joan Hamilton of LaVista, Rose Fennel and husband Ed of Council Bluffs, Marjorie Turner and John Olander of Richmond, Massachusetts; daughter-in-law Bonnie Turner of Neola; sons Bill and wife Nancy of Omaha, Tom and wife Sue of Rochester, Minnesota; 16 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; sisters Grace Dideriksen of Logan, Iowa and Ilo Harmon and husband Francis of Neola; nieces and nephews.

Wake service Was Tuesday at 6:00 P. M. with visitation to follow until 8:00 P. M. at cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home in Council Bluffs. Mass of Christian Burial was Wednesday at 10:30 A. M. at St Patrick's Church, Neola, Iowa. Interment was at Neola, Iowa. Luncheon followed at Church Hall.
