Christina H. Bisbee

FALLS CHURCH, Va. - Mass of Christian Burial for Christina H. (Hess) Bisbee, 76, of Fairfax, Va., will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at the St. Ambrose Catholic Chruch in Annandale, Va.

Mrs. Bisbee died Dec. 13 at the Fairfax Hospital.

She was born May 3, 1926, in Iowa City to Robert W. and Blanche (Doll) Hess. She graduated from St. Patrick's High School in 1944, and attended Iowa University. She was a telephone comany employee and worked as a hostess on the Great Lakes Leisure Ships. She was active in both Frankfurt, Germany, and Fairfax County, Va., as a Girl Scout leader. She was also active in the Ladies of the Elks Lodge and a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church.

Mrs. Bisbee was preceded in death by her husband, Rex E., of Council Bluffs, in 1994. They were married in 1948. She was also preceded in death by her son, Michael E. Bisbee.

Survivors include three daughters, Cheryl M. Todd, Kathryn A. Rowe and DeAyn L. VanEyk; two sons, Mark W. Bisbee and Kevin T. Bisbee; one sister, Joan Marie Johnson, of Coralville; two brothers, Robert L. Hess of Iowa City and Clement John Hess of Hammond, La.; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.

Burial will be Dec. 31 at 2 p.m. at Arlington National Cemetery. Murphy Falls Church Funeral Home in Falls Church, Va., is in charge of arrangements.
