Marceda Wilma PETERSON of Minden, IA passed away Thursday, 22 Feb. 2007 at Jennie Edmundson Hospital in Council Bluffs, IA. She had attained the age of 90 years, 11 months and 24 days.

Funeral services were held on Thursday, 1 March, at 2 pm at the United Church of Christ in Minden with Pastor Brian Wohlhuter and Pastor Duane Gibson officiating.

Casket bearers were Alan HIGLEY, Jim STORJOHANN, Jay BESTMANN, Darrel PETERSEN, Charlie HIGLEY and David STORJOHANN. Interment was in the Minden Cemetery. Pauley Jones Funeral Home in Avoca, IA was in charge of arrangements.

Marceda Wilma PETERSEN, the daughter of William and Anna (TREDE) BESTMANN, was born on 29 February 1916 a farm near Shelby.

She attended school in Shelby and graduated at the top of her class in 1933. After graduation she attended Drake University majoring in business.

Marceda was united in marriage to Erwin A. PETERSEN in Minden on 2 July 1940. After their marriage they farmed in Pleasant Township for over 40 years. After retiring and moving to Minden, Erwin passed way in 1992.

Marceda was a member of the United Church of Christ . . . .

She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant brother and a sister Muree GEIGER.

She is survived by her children, Kathy and her husband Jim COFFIN of Anaheim Hills, CA and Pat and her husband Steve SCHROEDER of Johnston, IA; one grandson Sam SCHROEDER of Denver, CO and one brother William BESTMANN and his wife Gerry of Marshalltown, IA; nieces, nephews other relatives and many friends.
