Carol A. Schwarz

Memorial Mass for Carol Ann Schwarz, 48, of Council Bluffs will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at St. Peter's Church with the Rev. Chuck Kottas officiating, with a luncheon to follow at St. Peters Social Hall.

Mrs. Schwarz died Dec. 7 at Alegent Health Mercy Hospital.

She was born Aug. 30, 1954, in Maquoketa to Richard and Rosemary (Fox) Gorrell. She lived in Storm Lake for 19 years, moving to Council Bluffs in 1992. She received her nursing degree from Iowa Central Community College in 1988. She was an registered nurse for Olsten Quality Care for five yeas, retiring in 1998 for medical reasons. She was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church and its Altar & Rosary Society.

Mrs. Schwarz and her husband, Steven, were married Oct. 22, 1977.

Survivors in addition to her husband include one daughter, Roseanne Schwarz, of Council Bluffs; one son, Mason, and wife, Staci Rae, of Des Moines; mother, Rosemary Gorrell, of Dubuque; three brothers, Paul Gorrell and wife, Bonnie, of Dubuque, Lee Gorrell and wife, Wendy, of Hawaii and Dean Gorrell and wife, Rose, of Madison, Wis.; three grandchildren.

The body has been cremated. Cutler-O'Neill- Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
