Lucille Stroeble-Williams Hadfield

Lucille Stroeble-Williams Hadfield, 86, of Council Bluffs died Dec. 7 at Indian Hills Nursing Center.

She was born on Dec. 13, 1915, in Oakland to Edward and Alma (Dau) Stroeble. She graduated from Oakland High School in 1933. She lived in Minden for 10 years, but spent most of her life in the Omaha-Council Bluffs area. She was employed at Storz Brewery in Omaha and later at the Omaha National Bank performing clerical work. She was a member of Timothy Lutheran Church in Council Bluffs.

Survivors include her husband of 16 years, Fred Hadfield; one daughter, Mary "Joanne" Elam and husband, Melvin, of Shell Knob, Mo.; a twin sister, Louise Leu of Council Bluffs; two other sisters, Alta Pontow of Council Bluffs and Esther Dimig of Omaha; two brothers, Wilbert Stroeble and wife, Bernadette, of Council Bluffs and Everett Stroeble and wife, Ann, of Oakland; one granddaughter and two great-granddaughters.

Visitation is Monday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home.

Graveside services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the Neola Township Cemetery with the Rev. Dean Sparr of Neola Presbyterian Church officiating.

Memorials may be given to the Minden Fire and Rescue or Neola Presbyterian Church.
