Ralph F. Viola, 81, of Council Bluffs.

Ralph was born in Council Bluffs on March 25, 1926, to Ercole and Lyda (Ombruni) Viola . Ralph was a 40 year employee with the Omaha World Herald as a pressman. Ralph was a loving and devoted family man who loved to travel.

Ralph was preceded in death by his parents; sister; two brothers; and grandson.

He is survived by his wife, Betty; son, Mike Viola and wife Kathy; daughter, Maralyn Christensen and husband Robert; 6 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; brother, John Viola and wife Billie; brother-in-law, Don Friedrichsen and wife Ruth; sister-in-law, Ardis Viola.

There will be visitation Wednesday, from 6-8 p.m., with a Rosary at 7 p.m., at Maher-Livingston Funeral Home. Services, Thursday, 10:30 a.m., from Maher-Livingston Funeral Home to St. Patrick's Catholic Church, at 11 a.m. Interment will be at St. Joseph's Cemetery with military honors by American Legion Rainbow Post #2.

Memorials are suggested to Hospice with Heart.
