Barbara Jean Doyle, age 84, of Neola, Iowa passed away November 23, 2007, at Northcrest Care Center in Council Bluffs.

Barb was born January 28, 1923, in Dunlap, Iowa to the late John and Mary (Hawn) O'Connor. She graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1940 and from Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in 1943. Barb served in the US Army during WWII as a nurse and retired from Mercy Hospital. She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Neola, and Mercy Hospital Alumnae Assoc.

Barb was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel J. Doyle in 1972; sisters, Jo Finn and Pat Fish; brother, Billy O'Connor.

She is survived by her daughters, Mary Delores "Dee" Sweeney and husband, Brian, Diane Hubbard and husband, Glenn, all of Tucson, Ariz.; sons, Dennis Doyle and wife, Kathy of Fort Wayne, Ind., William Doyle, Robert Doyle, both of Tucson, Patrick Doyle of Neola; 10 grandchildren; sister, Helen Burns of Omaha; many nieces and nephews.

Visitation, Thursday, noon-4:00 p.m. at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home. Wake Service, Thursday, 6:00 p.m. at St. Patrick's Church in Neola. Mass of Christian Burial, Friday, 10:30 a.m. at St. Patrick's Church. Interment St. Patrick's Cemetery with a lunch following at the parish hall.

Memorials may be offered to the Neola Community Center or Neola Veterans Monument.
