Gladys S. Braun

Gladys S. Braun, 89, of Omaha, formerly of Council Bluffs, died Dec. 3 at home.

She was born in Rockford Township to Roy L. and Ethel (Friend) Stokes. She was an Omaha resident for 17 years after moving from Council Bluffs.

She retired 17 years ago after 21 years of service as purchasing agent for Northwestern Bell Telephone Company.

Mrs. Braun was a member of All Saints Episcopal Church, St. Mary's Guild, a 50-year member and past Worthy Matron of Council Bluffs Chapter No. 441 Order of Eastern Star, Past Worthy High Priestess of Harmony Chapter No. 27 White Shrine of Jerusalem, a founder of Council Bluffs and Southwest Iowa Daughters of the Nile, Telephone Pioneers and Business and Professional Women.

Mrs. Braun was preceded in death by her husband, Ted.

Survivors include one son, James E. Bradman, and wife, Lynn, of Omaha; one sister, LuAnn S. Olson of Council Bluffs; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and nephews.

Eastern Star Service will be Thursday at 7 p.m. conducted by Council Bluffs Chapter No. 441 Order of Eastern Star followed by family visitation until 8 p.m. at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Chapel.

Funeral will be Friday at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Michael Tan Creti, All Saints Episcopal Church of Omaha, officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Cemetery.

Memorials may be offered to the Shrine Hospital.
