Opal Rogers (1927-2007)

Opal Rogers, the daughter of Glen and Stella (Phillips) Gillespie, was born March 28, 1927, on the family farm near Oakland, Iowa, and died October 17, 2007, at her home, in Canon City, Colo., at the age of 80 years.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert; parents; two brothers; and three sisters.

She is survived by her children, Gary Rogers and wife Terri, of Cedar Falls, Iowa, Tami Cloud and husband Thomas, of Houston, Texas; her grandchildren, Kimberly Rogers, of Cedar Falls, Daniel Rogers, of Ames, Iowa, and Austin Cloud, of Houston.

Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, November 7, 2007, at 2 p.m., at the Rieken Vieth Funeral Home, in Oakland. There will be no viewing or visitation. Rieken Vieth Funeral Home, in Oakland, is in charge of arrangements.
