Thomas George Thomsen, 76, gave up his 10 year struggle against Parkinson's Disease, on October 29, 2007.

Born March 11, 1931, in Council Bluffs, Tom spent the first 48 years of his life as a farmer. Tom was a 1949 graduate of Abraham Lincoln High School (and darn proud of it). He met and married the love of his life, Rosie, at age 21. They had a family of 7 children. His family was the center of his life and he worked hard to give them all he could. He was active in his children's education, serving on the Lewis Central School Board, for 20 years. He retired from farming and moved to Southern California when he was 48 years old. He worked in shipping and receiving for 12 years, until his health dictated he retire, at the age of 64. He then moved to the Branson/Springfield area of Missouri, where he and Rosie lived near many of his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Mabel Thomsen; siblings, Freddie, Carol, and Mary Thomsen; son, John Thomas Thomsen.

He is survived by his wife, Rosie, of 56 years; children, Susan Allen, of San Diego, Calf., Diann Thomsen, Terry Jo Thomsen, Lorrie Leazen and her husband Mitch Hughes, all of Nixa, Mo., David Thomsen and his wife Nancy, Michael Thomsen and his wife Lou, both of Ozark, Mo.; grandchildren, Justin Sebring, of California, Eric and Scott Allen, all of California, Shanna Theisen, Josh Leazenby, and Sadie Rose Hughes, Brittney and Johnny Thomsen, Seven Thomsen; step grandchildren, Taylor and Adam Smith; three great granddaughters, Shyanne, Dakota, and Savannah Theisen, all of Missouri; sister, Margaret Bonebrake, of Council Bluffs.

A private service was held by the family. Those who wish to pay their respects may do so at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home, in Council Bluffs, on Saturday, November 10th, between 5-7pm. Memorial contributions may be sent to the Parkinson's
