Clifferd William Frank Fischer, the son of Emil and Augusta (Retz) Fischer, was born September 24, 1910 on a farm north of Walnut, Iowa and died suddenly November 4, 2007 at the Cass County Memorial Hospital in Atlantic, Iowa at the age of 97 years, 1 month, and 11 days.

He is survived by his daughter Sally of Walnut, Iowa; his son Tom of Bellevue, Neb.; his grandson Wesley Fischer Bellevue, Neb.; four great grandchildren and their mother Amanda; and his daughter-in-law, Sue Fischer of Atlantic, Iowa.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 8, 2007 at 1:30 p.m. at the Hancock United Methodist Church. Visitation with the family present will be at the funeral home from 6-7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Interment will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Hancock. Rieken Vieth Funeral Home in Oakland is in charge of arrangements.
