Robert M. "Bob" Stevens, passed away on October 13, 2007, at his home in Texas.

He was born on December 11, 1919, in Ohiowa, Neb., to Clinton and Amy Stevens.

He is survived by his wife, Wanda Gilbreath Stevens; his children, Janice Karlson and Rick of Denver, Sheryl Manning and Mitch of Denver, Matt Stevens and Stacy of St. Cloud, Fla., Larry Stevens of Council Bluffs; sisters, Maxine Gross and Millie Venneman of Council Bluffs, Dorothy Harris of Meridian, Ind., Doris Dickerson of Mound, Minn.; brothers, Gerald Stevens of Council Bluffs, his twin brother, Richard Stevens and Teresa of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; 10 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren and many loving nieces, nephews and friends.

Bob proudly served his country in the Army Air Corp during World War II. He retired from Omaha Public Power Division in 1982 and moved to Harlingen. Bob was a member and past Master of Bluffs City Masonic Lodge #71 AF&AM, a member of the First Christian Church and Harlingen B.P.O.E. Elks. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wives, Chasta Aders and Shirley Lab; two brothers and one sister.

A memorial service will be held at the First Christian Church on October 27, 2007, at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to the Sandi Jo Funk Hospice, P.O. Box 2588, Harlingen, TX, 78551, or to the Air-conditioning Fund at First Christian Church, 421 S. 13th, Harlingen, TX, 78550, or to the charity of your choice.
