Shirley M. Wohlers, age 82 years, of Council Bluffs, Iowa, passed away October 12, 2007, at her home.

She was born June 2, 1925 in Council Bluffs to the late Fred D. and Eva M. (Venard) Christensen. A 1943 graduate of Abraham Lincoln High School, she was an operator for the former Northwestern Bell Telephone Company for 40 years, retiring in 1983.

She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Willard F. Wohlers, of Council Bluffs; aunt, Rose Venard, of Gardnerville, Nev.; special friends, Roberta Jones, Judy Freeman, Bonnie Patrick, Lynne Smith.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Eva M. Deane, February 8, 2001.

There will be an open visitation at the Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home. Family and friends will meet at the funeral home Monday, 1:30 p.m. and proceed in cortege to Ridgewood Cemetery for 2 p.m. graveside services. Rev. Mark Heath, pastor of Carter Lake Methodist Church, will officiate.

Memorials may be offered to the Asera Care Hospice.
