David B. Barnett, age 56, of Underwood, Iowa passed away October 7, 2007, at his home after a courageous year long battle with cancer.

Dave was born July 9, 1951, in Council Bluffs to Bruce and Virginia (Crowl) Barnett. He graduated from Underwood High School in 1969, attended Dana College in Blair, Neb., for one year and graduated with a degree in Business from the University of Iowa in 1973. Dave married Jane Steenhusen on December 1, 1979 and to this union two children were born. He was a farmer, bus driver for the Underwood Schools and drove a truck for Scholastic Book Fairs. Dave was a member of First Christian Church.

He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Jane Barnett; daughter, Amanda Barnett, both of Underwood; son, Lucas Barnett, of Council Bluffs; parents, Bruce and Virginia Barnett, of Underwood; brother, Duane Barnett and wife, Melody, of Council Bluffs; sisters, De Ann Fritsch, of Neola, Denise Barnett, of Underwood; nieces and nephews.

Visitation with the family, Tuesday, 6-8 p.m. at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home. Funeral Service, Wednesday, 10:00 a.m. First Christian Church, Heritage Campus with Pastor David Erickson officiating. Interment Hazel Dell Cemetery with a lunch following at First Christian Church.

Memorials to the family preferred.
