Katherine F. Halloran, 84 years, Sabetha, Kan., former Council Bluffs resident, passed away September 25, 2007, at Sabetha Manor.

She was born August 12, 1923, in Council Bluffs, to the late John and Esther (Groneweg) Halloran. A 1941 graduate of Abraham Lincoln High School, she served in the U.S. Navy Waves during WWII. She was a medical assistant in the office of Dr. Steinberg, Omaha, for many years until her retirement. She was a former member of Council Bluffs Business and Professional Women, also Council Bluffs Service League. She moved to Sabetha in 1967, where she was a member of the First Congregational Church and served as a volunteer at the Sabetha Library.

Survivors include a cousin, Robert W. Knox and his wife, Kathryn Schlott of Council Bluffs and other cousins outside of Council Bluffs. A memorial service will be held Friday, 1:00 p.m. at Sabetha Manor in Sabetha.

Visitation with the family will be Sunday 4 to 5 p.m. at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home. Graveside service will be held Monday, 10:00 a.m at Walnut Hill Cemetery, Rev. Barbara Todd, New Horizon Presbyterian Church, will officiate. Military honors will be provided by American Legion, Post No. 2. Family and friends will meet at the cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Sabetha Manor, 1441 Oregon St., Sabetha, KS 66534.
