Obituary: Rose Catherine Leonard
Rose Catherine Leonard, age 87, passed away on Palm Sunday.

She was born in Neola, Iowa on December 7, 1919 to the late William and Grace Good McDonald. Rose graduated from St. Joseph School in Noela. She had worked for Beno's and Kilpatricks Dept. Stores for many years. Rose loved her family, especially her husband, Edward, her children and grandchildren. Rose was a bookkeeper for Leonard Garage for all her married life. Her life consisted of their activities, sewing, baking, making her handy works, and her gift of caring for all her family. She will be remembered as a second mother to many. Rose was a member of St. Columbanus Church in Weston, Altar and Rosary Society.

She is preceded in death by husband, Edward; parents; sister, Patricia Grudle; brothers, Bernard and Raymond McDonald.

Survivors include her children, Thomas Leonard and wife, Peggy, of Underwood, Marjorie Petersen and husband, Darrel, of Minden; her loving 8 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; sister, Ruth McDonald, of Imogene, Iowa; nieces and nephews.

Rosary Recitation will be held on Tuesday at 6 p.m. with visitation to follow until 8 p.m. at St. Patrick's Church, Neola, Iowa. Mass of Christian Burial Wednesday 12 noon also at church, Father Raphael Masabakhwa, officiating. Interment St. Columbanus Cemetery, Weston, Iowa with luncheon to follow at St. Patrick's in Neola. Memorials to St. Columbanus preferred.
