Marilyn "Lynn" Sievers of Anita, IA passed away Thursday, March 8, 2007 at the Colonial Manor Nursing Home in Anita, IA. She had attained the age of 79 years, 10 months and 26 days. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, March 14 at 1:00 pm at the Peace United Church of Christ in Walnut, IA with Rev. Gail Muckey as the clergy. An Order of Eastern Star service was also done by the Liberty Chapter No. 230 of Marne, IA. Serving as casket bearers were Doug Alff, Allan Sievers, Craig Woltmann, Max Petersen, Chuck Gross and Rex Sievers and Al Koll, Robert Dierking, Bob Allen, Bob Lafrentz and Dale Ploen as honorary casket bearers. Internment was held in the Layton Township Cemetery, Walnut, IA. Pauley Jones Funeral Home in Walnut was in charge of arrangements. Marilyn "Lynn" Sievers, daughter of Fred John and Mae Victorine (Hansen) Hazelton, was born on April 10, 1927 in Council Bluffs, IA. ...attended various schools in Council Bluffs [IA]...family moved to David City, NE, where she completed high school education. After high school she received her teachers training and became a music teacher in Walnut of a short period of time. On June 27, 1948 Marilyn was united in marriage to Lee SIEVERS in David City, NE. To this union 4 daughters were born: Cynthia, Carol, Janet and Nancy. After their marriage they made their home on a farm near Walnut. ...baptized and confirmed ...active member of Peace United Church of Christ in Walnut. ...member of Alpha Xi Delta Sorority and Order of Eastern Star. After the death of her husband in 1993, Marilyn remained at home in Walnut before making her home at the Colonial Manor Nursing Home in Anita. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents. Marilyn is survived by her daughters, Cynthia and her husband Haeven Pedersen of Des Moines, IA, Carol Ann and her husband Douglas Dimig of Atlantic, IA, Janet Lea and her husband Scott Haddock of Easton, MD and Nancy Lynn Sievers of Brielle, NJ; eight grandchildren, Tamara Pedersen, Christopher Pedersen, Julie and her husband Robby Anderson, Scott Dimig and his wife Kimberly, Amy and her husband Jeremy Lindley, Neal Dimigandhis wife Nicole and Corben Haddock and Devan Haddock still lving at home; 12 great grandchildren, three nieces, other loving relatives and many friends.
