Richard D. Evans, age 68, of Council Bluffs, passed away August 14, 2007, at his residence.

Richard was born May 5, 1939 in Council Bluffs to Leland and Louise (Wilson) Evans. Richard and Sally S. Schmidt were united in marriage on October 18, 1958. Richard was employed with Pepsi-Cola for forty years, retiring in 2001. He then worked as a bus driver for Lewis Central High School.

Richard was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who will be sadly missed by family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Richard is survived by his wife of 48 years, Sally Evans; son, Mark Evans and wife, Jodi, of Glenwood; daughters, Diana Evans, of Omaha, Nikkie Souther and husband, Doug, of Crescent; grandchildren, Makenzie, Chase, Caden, and Colby; sisters, Marilyn Kennedy and husband, LeRoy, of Council Bluffs, Linda Mattox, of Glenwood; many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Thursday from 6 until 8 p.m. at Maher-Livingston Funeral Chapel. Services will be Friday, 10 a.m. at Salem United Methodist Church, 14955 Somerset Ave, Council Bluffs. Interment will be at Glenwood Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to American Cancer Society.
