Vernon Leroy Johnson (March 16, 1915 - July 25, 2007), age 92, of Glenwood, Iowa, formerly of Macedonia, Iowa, died at the Hospice House in Omaha on July 25, 2007.

Visitation will be Friday, July 27, 2007, at the Hertz Funeral Home in Glenwood, with family present from 7 to 8 p.m. Funeral service will be Saturday, July 28, 2007, at 10:30 a.m. at Grace United Methodist Church in Glenwood. Masonic rites and military honors will follow at 1:00 p.m. at the Macedonia Cemetery.

Vernon was preceded in death by his wife, Velma Johnson in May 2007.

He is survived by daughter, Verna Kelley and husband, Robert of Glenwood; son, Frank Johnson and wife, Margaret of Springdale, Ark.; sister, Maxine Wurst of San Jose, Calif.; eight grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

Memorials suggested to the Grace United Methodist Church, Carson Masonic Lodge and Macedonia American Legion.
