Donald E. Stange Jr.

The funeral for Donald E. Stange Jr., 52, of Ft. Worth, Texas, will be Friday at 7 p.m. at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home with his brother-in-law, Ron Kerber, high priest, officiating.

Mr. Stange died Oct. 26 at home of an apparent heart attack.

He was born Sept. 27, 1950, in Council Bluffs to Donald and Virginia (Johnson) Stange Sr. He previously lived in Arizona, New Mexico, Chicago and Texas. He was a 1968 graduate of Underwood High School. He was a train dispatcher for Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad in Ft. Worth. He began with the Rock Island Railroad at age 17.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Anne (Rector); one daughter, Heidi Kay Stange, of Socorro, N.M.; mother, Virginia "Ginny" Stange, of Council Bluffs; two sisters, Geri Nelson and husband, Dennie, of McClelland and JoLinda Kerber and husband, Ron, of McClelland; three brothers, Bob of Orlando, Fla., Whitey and wife, Lisa, of Johnston and John and wife, Donna, of McClelland; grandmothers, Gwen Stange of Oakland and Arlene Dugger and husband, Willard, of Independence, Mo.

Visitation will follow the funeral service. The body will be cremated following the service.

Memorials may be offered to the American Cancer Society or Community of Christ Church in Underwood.
