Norma Wilder died September 22, 2011 at her home in Urbandale. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, September 28 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Pius X Catholic Church. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 5 to 7 p.m. with a Vigil Service at 7 p.m. Burial will be in Resthaven Cemetery in West Des Moines.
Norma was born May 28, 1927 to Clara and Ward Jennings. She graduated from North High School in 1945 and Drake University Pharmacy School in 1949. On June 25, 1951 she was united in marriage to Bernard F. Wilder. Norma worked for over 50 years in the Des Moines area as a Pharmacist.
Norma was an active member of the Urbandale Historical Society and St. Pius X Catholic Church. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family and, also loved music, and being outdoors, she loved being a "Grandma".
Norma is survived by her three children, Robert Wilder, Bernard (Mary) Wilder and Carol Wilder; four grandchildren, Emily, Keriann, Allyson and Rebecca; and two great-grandsons, Cameron and Colbie.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Urbandale Lions Club, Urbandale Historical Society, or St. Pius X Catholic Church.
