Marjorie Marie Sullivan, daughter of Oscar and Nina (Boyd) Lambert, was born in Valley Junction, Iowa, on July 6, 1922 and passed away on August 24, 2011 at the Bright- Kavanagh Hospice House in Des Moines Iowa at the age of 89 years.
Marjorie was united in marriage to Michael F. Sullivan on December 10, 1941, in Trenton, Missouri. Mike preceded her in death on April 18, 2000. She was also preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Michael, Jr. who died in infancy, and James Michael; an infant daughter, Marjorlon; and by a sister, Mary Jane Short. She is survived by three sons, Tim Sullivan (and daughter-in-law, Barb) of Altoona, Iowa, Kelly Sullivan (and daughter-in-law, Bert) of Chandler, Arizona, and Patrick Sullivan (and daughter-in-law, Jan) of Rockford, Illinois; a daughter-in-law, Jill Sullivan, of Davenport, Iowa; one sister, Maxine Archibald, of Des Moines, Iowa; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and by several loving nieces and nephews.
Marjorie and Mike lived and raised their four sons in the Des Moines, Iowa, area until Mike's retirement in 1986. They then moved to Mercer, Missouri, and lived on Lake Marie, where they had enjoyed camping and fishing with the whole family for many years prior to Mike's retirement. Marjorie moved to Altoona, Iowa, in 2002 where she resided until her death.
Marjorie chose to be a full time mom. She raised four sons, who she was very proud of and who loved her very much. "Mom, you will be missed by all who knew you and whose lives you touched".
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 31, 2011, at 11 a.m., at the Greenlee-Middleton Funeral Chapel in Princeton, Missouri, with Pastor Gary Watkins officiating. Burial will be in the Early Cemetery in Mercer, Missouri.
Open visitation and viewing will begin at 8 a.m., Wednesday, at the funeral home, where the family visitation will be from 10 a.m., until service time at 11 a.m.
