Joseph A. Villirillo, 87, died on March 22, 2012, at Fountain West Care Center in West Des Moines. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Monday, March 26, 2012, at Iles Funeral Homes-Westover Chapel. Burial will follow at Glendale Cemetery in Des Moines.
Joseph was born on February 26, 1925, in Des Moines to Rose and Vito Villirillo. He grew up in Des Moines and served in the U.S. Navy during the WWII. Joseph married Rosemary Mazza in June, 1947 and they made their home in Des Moines. He worked for Acri Wholesale, retiring in 1980.
Joseph is survived by his son, Joe (Helen) Villirillo of West Des Moines, daughter, Virginia (Ron) Coles of Prairie Villiage, KS, grandson, Aaron Villirillo of Windsor Heights, brother, Tom (Donna) Villirillo of Bella Vista, AR, and his sister, Mary Jean Sciachitano of Des Moines. He was preceded in death by his wife and parents.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Westover Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association. Online condolences will be welcomed at IlesCares.com.
The family would like to thank the staff at Fountain West for all the loving care that was given to Joe.
