On Monday, March 15, 2012, Julia Anne Mishler, a smiling face and joyous soul, left this Earth, surrounded by her loving family. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday, March 19, at Plymouth Congregational Church. Burial will be at Resthaven Cemetery.
Anne Mishler was born on February 18, 1964. As a miracle baby, she weighed less than two pounds, and was put in an isolette to prosper and grow in a unique fashion with a miracle physician to lead the way, a father to literally hold her hand every day, and a mother who loved her. She joined three other siblings, two brothers and one sister, and had a vast and wonderful journey to adulthood. She was exposed to Europe and exciting places; theatre with her father; Donny and Marie Osmond (her favorites at Branson and Las Vegas); Duran Duran; and tons of memorabilia saved from all places.
Anne graduated from Roosevelt High School, and DMACC (in Social Services). She also attended Grand View College.
Anne was employed by Mercy Hospital for many years, and worked in Food Services at Mercy Court and Mercy Main, during which she enjoyed many co-workers. She will be missed by many.
Preceding Anne in death were her mother, Jeannette Mishler and brother, James Mishler. She is survived by her father, Jack Mishler and stepmother, Jo Anna Holt Mishler; siblings, Sara Mishler (Steve) Houghton of Florida and John Mishler of Nebraska; and her sister-in-law, Sue Mishler of Des Moines. She enjoyed many nieces and nephews, Molly (Jake) Atkins and Nicholas Mishler of Des Moines, Jacklyn Houghton of Texas, Samantha Houghton of Florida and Lorena Ray Mishler of Nebraska; and many cousins, Molly Faulkner of California, Jody Travis and Katherine Wallis of Arizona, Mary Anderson of Nebraska and Jon Muir of Minnesota. She was blessed by special friends, Charmell Davidson, Wanda Hensley, Steve Jones, Bernie Christiansen, Michelle Sanders and Stephanie and Sue Surber.
Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, March 18 at Iles Funeral Homes-Westover Chapel.
