Pat Dunlap, 72, of Des Moines passed away at Taylor House Monday, February 27, 2012 surrounded by her family. Pat was born to Vern and Lois Carter on May 21, 1939. She was a lifelong homemaker and mother. Her favorite pastime was spending time with her kids and grandkids. She also enjoyed collecting many things, especially pigs.
Pat is survived by her eight children: daughters, Diane Vilks of Aurora, Iowa, Kathy and Sue Dunlap and Jenna McVey, all of Des Moines, and Tamie (Ed) Hilligas of Bauxite, Arkansas; sons, Jamey (Missy) Dunlap of Earlham, Harold and Steve Dunlap, both of Des Moines; 22 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; three sisters; and two brothers. Pat was preceded in death by her son, Matthew; her parents; two brothers; granddaughter, Stephanie Dunlap; and great-grandson, Parker Hilligas.
A Memorial Service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Friday, March 2, 2012 at Lutheran Church of the Cross, 1701 8th Street SW, Altoona. Memorial Contributions may be made to her family in loving memory of Pat.
